Backing the Banner !

As The All Ireland Hurling Final quickly approaches, A large screen will be erected to bring you all the action live this Sunday in the square of Shannon Town Centre in order to cheer on local stars Brian Lohan, Darragh Lohan, Rory Hayes and Aaron Shanagher.

We could not let such a weekend pass without marking the huge achievements of our local players and managers in the town. We know there will be many asking the trip to Dublin to back the banner but given the huge involvement of Shannon people in this years team, and the huge pride local people feel in supporting them, we thought it best to take the initiative to host something in the town to mark their achievements.

We will be erecting a large screen in the courtyard of the centre and will have vendors, food stalls and entertainment for all the family from 2pm Sunday July 21st. Tickets for this years Final are in short supply, and many would find it challenging to travel with small kids, so we hope this will allow everyone in our community and from the surrounding areas to experience the buzz of the day and to cheer on our local players and back the banner in their fight against the rebels.

This event is completely free of charge to attend and no need to worry about bringing Lunch as we have that covered ! On site we have arranged an array of food vendors from pizza, burgers to crepes and Ice creams there’s something to keep everyone going for the day.

Local Councillor in the Shannon MD David Griffin gave his thoughts on this weekends event saying “Its great to see a local event to celebrate the players and to support the team. People are hugely proud of the wider team, but especially those local players and management who have brought us to Croke Park for an All-Ireland Final”.

With such a strong Clare Hurling & Management panel heading off to the All Ireland Final this Sunday including Shannons very own stars there is no doubt that Shannon Town Centre is Backing the Banner !

We done it in 2013 lets do it again…#Hon the Banner!!
